Monastic

So just about everyday, or at least every day that I post to my blog, I wade through over 2,000 images to find just the right one to post. Today I decided not to go through each and every one but settle with something that caught my eye. This particular picture is of a monestary, I think, in Seattle on Capital Hill. Hope you all enjoy.
For those dedicated viewers you can look forward to some wedding photos in the near future. Tomorrow my brother and I are going to be doing some wedding photography for one of his friends. It will be a first for me, as I usually shy away from taking pictures of people. We'll see how the picture turn out and how I like it. If nothing else it will be a new experience. Anyways I must be going. More to come this weekend...

Homeward Bound

Here is a bit of aerial photography compliments of Horizon Airlines. That little mound there is Mount Ranier. I would have taken more pictures of say Tacoma or Seattle but FAA requires that all electronic devices be turned off and stowed during takeoff and landings. Oh well didn't plan on doing any photography on the plan anyways... Look forward to some talk about business prospects and pictures of Montana in the near future... Until then...

Lack of Updates

I apologize for the lack of updates recently but I've been busy studying for finals and all that jazz, ok I haven't done much studying but I need too. Anyhow, I don't think there will be any updates for a little while. I leave for my Spring Break trip on Friday and doubt I will have time, or will make time, to do an update while in Montana. Macro

Well it looks like I will be expanding my lens selection here shortly. As some may know my birthday is comming up and for that birthday my mother is buying me the macro lens I've been wanting for a while now. This is one of the pictures that I took with my mother's macro lens, so I'm definately looking forward to getting my own and using it frequently.

B&W Airport

Allow me to open up my window for this one... I live insanely close to the Seattle Tacoma International Airport but until recently haven't taken any pictures. This is partially because I'm afraid the Department of Homeland Security is going to arrest me, and partially out of laziness. Regardless a few days ago I did take a few pictures on a nice sunny day. Results weren't all the spectacular due to the sun being in the WRONG place; which is why this photo is in black and white. Nevertheless here is one of the results. Hope you enjoy...

Fat Tuesday then ... Lent

Well first of all may I wish everyone a belated Fat Tuesday, sorry I'm posting this just a few minutes before midnight. Overprocessing Fun

Decided to do a little, what I consider, overprocessing on one of my images. This one was taken looking directly into the Sun during a sunset, through a few trees. I was actually helping someone with understanding exposure compensation when i took it. It ended up looking relatively nice and with a bit of adjustments on the colors it is what it is. Stairway to...the Ocean?

Fear not I haven't forgotten about my blog. I've been so consumed with writing papers I've had a make a few sacrafices. And though my devotion to the Daily Show and the Colbert Report haven't been shaken, my blog has unfortunately taken a back seat. Fear not though, Spring Break is around the corner and though I have some plans they won't take up the entire break. Trying to think of some new exciting things to do to enhance myself as a photographer so if you have any suggestions please by all means send them my way... Oh I also got some prints finally made of a few of my photos. Though I am unhappy with the printing service I used I am very happy with the way the prints turned out. So if you see me ask me to see them and more then likely they will be on me, and lord knows I'd love to show them off. Well that's it for now. Admittedly this isn't the best photo but it's the best I got with my minimal telephoto lens. I now have the need and desire for a true telephoto, maybe a 300mm. But I did get a shot of the Bald Eagle so I'm happy. I was even happier to hear that they live right on Alki Beach. Which will make subsequent visits to try and photograph them incredibly easy. We'll see...

Exhausted

Another week down. Finished with my last midterm and I am anxiously awaiting the end of the quarter. I'm dying for a break, a break that I will spend in Montana relaxing as much as possible. I will try and bring back some pictures though. Sorry the updates have been chaotic and incomplete lately but I've been so very busy. I'll try and clean up the entries this weekend, and add some more photos...

Long Weekend

I spent the better part of this weekend; Friday afternoon and Saturday; driving around the Olympic Peninsula. I visited Cape Flattery, the most Northwestern Point in the contiguous United States, on Friday and then most the rest of the Northern Coast of Washington on Saturday. Got a great set of pictures. Should have a few good pictures to develop for my upcomming portfolio. That's it for now; looking to relax today before what looks to be a long week.

Yeah I know it's been a long time since I've posted. I've been so busy between work and school. Worked all weekend so I was unfortunately unable to update, but I'm back and hopefully my updates will be more consistant. If not I'll apologize in advance. As for the outlook, the weather around the area is looking to be nice for most the week so I might take the opprutunity to take some pictures. I know that I am looking at going out to the ocean this weekend but we'll see if the weather cooperates. Other then that I'll leave you with this picture of Mt. Whew it's been a crazy few days. I've been incredibly busy with writing papers and getting ready for work this weekend so it's been quite a while since I've updated. I apologize and well I'm kindof back, at least for today and might be able to tap out an update tomorrow before work. Planning a trip here in the next week or so out to the ocean to take a few pictures, still trying to build up a decent portfolio. I'm thinking about getting some prints made up here soon to showcase what I can do, we'll see. Anyways that's about it for now, tomorrow is going to be a LONG day...
