A Bit of Sailing

In honor of the long weekend I decided to post another photo. I figured I'd get people in a summery (I realize it is not a word) mood with a photo taken at Alki Beach on a very sunny day. Hope you all enjoy and please shoot me some comments and tell your friends about this blog!

Contest Entries

I have officially entered my photography into my first contest; a contest with a pretty hefty prize in fact. I'm doubtful that I will win but it is of course worth a shot. Oddly this three photos I entered, the three above, were all taken with my old camera (that Panasonic DMC FZ5). Guess I haven't taken THAT many good photos with my new one... Oh well, it's a work in progress. Hope you enjoy the photos and wish me luck!

Been a while...

Guess it has been a while since my last post so I thought that I would post something today as I wait for members of my group project. Not much really happening in the photography world for me. Haven't actually touched my camera in a few weeks, but if the weather is nice this weekend I'll have some new photos. I'm also having the difficulty of running out of memory on my computer, as I keep forgetting to transfer to my external harddrive, so that is non the agenda this weekend as well... That's it for now; I'll try and update tomorrow...

Another Sunset

Not much going on really, just trying to get through the quarter. I'm thinking about starting up a political forum, using my Raptimagery domain. Maybe I'll get more hits and use some of the space that I have. If anyone is interested it is at http://politics.raptimagery.com. If you post something you can be sure I'll reply. That's it for today.

Gas Works at Night

Here is a nocturnal view of Gas Works Park looking towards downtown Seattle. Did a bit of post processing obviously for the warmer colors. I think it emphasizes the skyline and the gas works. Hope you all enjoy.

Captivity (A day at the Woodland Park Zoo)

Unfortunately the sun didn't hold for my trip to the zoo today. After about two hours at the zoo it started to rain, and I think we can all agree that rain and cameras do not mix. However, before it started raining too bad I did get some good photos. I have uploaded those photos onto my webpage at: http://www.raptimagery.com/Captivity/. Hopefully you will enjoy the photos...

SeaPlane

Yesterday was simply a beautiful day. I couldn't resist spending as much time as possible outside. I spent my morning in fact at Gas Works Park in Seattle taking pictures of the SeaPlanes as they took off from Lake Union. It was a great day for photography. Hope to get some more photography done today and continue to work on the webpage so stay tuned...

Finally Some Changes

It has been sooo long since I've done anything to my webpage but I decided that I would attempt to resurect it. I found this nice, free, Flash program that would give my webpage a more "professional" look. Not only does it look good the webpages are EASY to make, as I can export them right out of Picasa. I have only had time to make a temporary main page, which basically has all the photos from the blog on there. I hope this weekend I'll have time to do more work on the webpage and maybe have something to show for it later this week. I do encourage people to take a look and provide feedback; the web address is http://www.raptimagery.com. Hope you enjoy the webpage and the photos...

Tulips!

Unfortunately the day that I went to the Tulip festival it was a pretty cloudy day. On the other hand the dark sky contrasts rather nicely with the bright color of the Tulips. All in all I'm pretty happy with this years photos of the Tulip festival, hopefully the weather will be nicer next year for some better photos. I have a few updating items to take care of but I will take care of that next post, and hopefully you won't have to wait as long for the next one. Till then enjoy the photos.

TFTTF Mug

Here's a good photo from the Skagit Valley Tulip festival in Northern Washington. Got quite a few good photos that I'll probably be posting some more later this week. In the meanwhile enjoy this photo and enjoy the Podcast that I swear by for all my Digital Photography needs: Tips from the Top Floor (http://www.tipsfromthetopfloor.com).

Tulips

I realize that this is not a tulip. Today, however, I will be attending the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, a yearly festival that lasts close to a month. Although it is a bit cloudy and probably will rain I still hope to get some good photos. I've been trying to find photos to post on the blog recently, as I haven't been doing my usual 50 or more photos a day. I've actually been going back into my "archives" and using the photos that would have been posted on my webpage if I would have updated it. Speaking of the webpage that has gone by the wayside it seems. I think I'm going to keep it up in the event that I do find someone to do the updating for me. That's about it for now though. Enjoy your day and leave a comment!

Fire!

First of all I am no obsessed with fire. Thought I would throw that out there before I explain what I did. So I recently got a new macro lens for the camera. This 35mm macro lens allows me to get VERY close to the subject to get very large high quality photos. So I did precisely that with this candle that I had. As I looked through the viewfinder I could literally feel the heat from the flame. It was good times and the shots I got were worth it. Hope you enjoy.

Addendum: No cameras, filters, lenses, or people were damaged or hurt in the making of this photo. My smoke alarm did however go off...
