Fog Bank

Panasonic DMC FZ-5
Focal Length: 72mm
F-Number: F/4
Exposure Time: 1/320 sec.
ISO Speed: ISO-80

Another picture of the fog that covered the Seattle area last week. Again I thought I would give you something to look at while I give you an update. Looks like the webpage won't be ready on Monday. All my post processing, however, is done so I'm just left with creating the webpage itself. I should be able to get a great deal of it done tomorrow, maybe. Again I'll keep everyone informed as to the progress. Hopefully everyone will take a look at it when I finish.

Fog...

Pansonic DMC FZ-5
Focal Length: 51mm
F-Number: F/4
Exposure Time: 1/125 sec.
ISO Speed: ISO-80

I thought I'd give you something to look at while I drone on and on about nothing in particular. So take a look at the picture and then, if you still want to read, take a deep breath and begin. Well this weekend should be the advent of the webpage. I have a solid organization that I will probably begin working on this evening, or after this post. I've also finished the post processing on my images so they are basically ready to post, save a resizing and some other happy to glad changes. So look forward to that on Monday.
So I've been thinking alot about promoting my website. I think that this is perhaps the hardest thing to do. I've been trying to do this mostly through word of mouth with friends and family. However, to some degree this blog is an attempt to promote my website. I figure what is the point of having a website if no one outside your family and friends see it. Once my webpage gets up I think it will be that time to do promotions. Business cards are probably going to be the first step as that should help me promote myself to the people that look at me like I'm crazy. But hey if you wonderful people that read this want to give me a bit of promotion, that too would be great.
Well I think that's it for now. I might post some more pictures on this wonderful blog here this weekend, as Picasa2 makes it very very very easy (THANK YOU GOOGLE). Other then that I'm off to class and then where ever else...

Grey Skies

You know it is rather disappointing when you think that it is going to be a nice day but as the day progresses it gets grayer and grayer. That was today, when I woke up it was beautiful (a bit cold) with clear skies. However, when I got off work some 5 hours later, ready to do a bit of photography, it was cloudy. It was very disappointing. Oh well guess it wasn't meant to be, besides I think I have enough pictures for now.
Things are progressing fairly well on the post processing side of the house. I should begin on the actual webpage design tonight or tomorrow. I already have a few ideas on how this will work. Until then I will try and post some pictures that I won't be using on the website here. Hopefully you enjoyed the last two I posted. That's it for today, as I have an Anthropology lecture to listen too.

500 dollars and 1000 + photos later

First and foremost I will never promise to update this blog. I find that if I promise then you will most likely be very disappointed. Between work and school I have plenty to do so for this reason alone I will never promise to update. What I will promise is that I will try my hardest and do whatever I can do to update. I am no for instance sitting in the library at University of Washington typing this post.
Secondly I'd like to provide you with an update of what is the future of RaptImagery. The future is a complete redesign of the site. I have already moved my pictures onto a Flickr account so that they will still be accessible. I encourage you, if you enjoyed the pictures, to take a look. There are some new pictures on there as well so hopefully I've sparked a little interest. So I guess the next logical question is what is to become of RaptImagery.com? It's going to be my "professional" site, what it was meant to be all along. I'm going to be highly discriminatory about what is posted and it probably won't contain any more than 10% of my photo collection. They will however, be the best 10% and I also will be posting larger images. I'm going to post some of the pictures that are good, but didn't quite make the cut here and on my Flickr page so check back often.
I am currently sitting on over 1000 new images taken with my new camera. It has been quite the process of picking just the best, but I feel that process is done. With that said I have organized my pictures, no longer by location, but by subject. The new organization is as follows: Aviation, Buildings, Cityscapes, Everyday, Experimental, Fauna, Flora, Landscapes, Night, Objects, Seascapes, and Sunrise/Sunset. I will be using about 5 - 10 images from each category and I'm looking at right now a total of about 50 images, I the exact number is 77 images subject to change. I hope to spend a great deal of time in the next few days doing the necessary post processing on them and hopefully this weekend the new web design will go up and the people will rejoice.
So that is it for now. I guess take a look at http://www.raptimagery.com while you have a chance. Don't be discouraged when it goes away though everything can still be found on my Flickr page. I'm going to post an image today to give everyone something to look forward to so you'll probably read this after the image. Enjoy!

The long list...

Ok it isn't that long...

http://www.raptimagery.com - This is my "professional" webpage where I will be posting only my best photos

http://www.flickr.com/photos/raptimagery - My flickr page where I will post all my images, eventually

http://raptimagery.blogspot.com - Where you are right now...

All of these links will be permanently on the left hand side of the blog where it says links, where links typically go.

The Beginning

Ok ok ok, here is the deal. I created a website about a month ago, I think maybe more, in order to put my digital photos on the web and get a bit of recognition. So far it is turning out to be a horrible failure. This is not to say that people aren't visiting or that I'm not getting good feedback, which I am on all account. Rather it is a horrible failure because I am FAR too busy to update on a regular basis. I spend most my days going from work, to class, and then home to study. I take plenty of pictures during the day, usually between work and class or between classes, but I simply don't have the time when I get home, or don't make the time, to do the necessary post processing and uploading of those images. So my plan is to use the many tools available on the internet in order to assist me on getting my photos out there. I am now going to combine my website, Flickr and Blogger in order to make my life easier. This I am hoping will save me time and energy, and probably more importantly if you are reading this give you some good images to good at on a more regular basis. We will see. I will shortly follow this post up with my web information...
