Apologies

My utmost apolgies to those who are avid viewers of my blog. As you may have noticed I have no updated in close to three months. Because of a rigorous school schedule I am unable to maintain the pace that people are used too. I'm hoping to eventually return to updating my blog over my winter break - in about three weeks. Inshallah I'll have new photos to share with all of you. In the meantime feel free to view the archive of this blog or visit my portfolio at http://www.raptimagery.com/. Thanks and please check back in three weeks...

Not Much

Don't have much today besides a photo. I have a nice four day weekend that I have been enjoying and have been trying to work on finishing up some reading and some other projects. I'm starting a new political blog that I hope to have up and running by the end of this long weekend, we'll see. That's it for now, should have another update tomorrow...

Losing Track

Sorry if I spoiled everyone with the multiple photo update. I think I'm back to the daily, or semi daily, updating however as I have few excuses at the moment. I am also back to my camera as I returned the Canon back to my coworker today... It was fun while it lasted.

I must say though that after over 100 posts, this will be post 129, it is hard to keep track of what I have posted and what I haven't. I am trying to bring new photos every post, photos not on my webpage, but that is starting to get difficult as I have reduced the amount of photography I've been doing. Perhaps that is a sign for me to pick up the pace. I do hope to soon. That's about it for now though, more tomorrow...

Wildlife Photography

So I gave some serious time this weekend, ok just about 30 minutes before I had to work on Saturday, to some wildlife photography. It was more of a photo-adventure of opprutunity then anything. There just happened to be a retaining pond near the apartment complex I was working at that had a great deal of wildlife, to include a Great Blue Heron. I couldn't resist the opprutunity to take a few photos. Again these were taken with my coworker's Canon 20D 300mm Macro lens at 1600 ISO (I know I can't believe I could get away with 1600 ISO either, kudos to Canon on making a fine lens). I can now officially recommend the Canon 20D, though it has I believe been replaced with the 30D, and the Canon 70mm-300mm Ultrasonic Macro Lens. Absolutely beautiful feel, design and output...

Kites

Well another update from Gas Works Park and the Canon 20D. This time the update is thematic... I'm hoping to get out this weekend to take a few more photos out at the beach, we'll see how that turns out. Well that's it for now. Enjoy...

An Afternoon At Gas Works

Well I felt bad about not posting in a while, I think it's been close to a month. So for those that don't know I recently moved into a new apartment so I have been busy unpacking and what not. I've also have had problems with my internet but I am happy to report the problems have been fixed.

On the photography front I am playing with a camera for a week. A coworker of mine was kind enough to lend me his Canon 20D that he is soon to get rid of. I must say that I am very satisfied with the results today. I shot these photos at ISO 1600 and they turned out simply incredible with very little noise. Maybe a Canon is in my future...

Anyways that's it for now, enjoy the photos and I hope this signals me getting back into the blogging mood...

Seattle

Sorry it has been so long but I've been busy with work and moving so I haven't had time to do additional photography or to post. Here is a wonderful photo from the Space Needle that I took earlier this month hope you all enjoy and I'll try and post more in the future...

Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Independence Day everyone! (I know I'm a day late) Hope everyone had a good Fourth and enjoyed it in the finest fashion you know how. As you can see I went out to see some fireworks, at Gas Works Park in Seattle. It was my first time shooting fireworks and all in all I did a good job capturing the action, but unfortunately I captured alot of other things too. But I hope everyone enjoys...

Monks

Yesterday was an interesting day for photography. I decided to leave my camera in manual focus mode to try and get more "accurate" results. Unfortunately my vision isn't all that great, in fact it sucks. For this reason a great deal of my low depth of field shots didn't turn out all that great. This one was rather striking, as long as you don't critique it too closely, as it is a tiny bit out of focus. Hope everyone enjoys...

Bed Time

Well I decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather that the Seattle area has been having, instead of continuing to pack, and head out to Alki beach for sunset. Needless to say there were ALOT of people out on this clear evening, and who could blame them. Got quite a few good shots. As for photography for me, it has taken the back seat to some other projects I'm working on but I assure you I will be taking more photos soon and post as many as I can...

The Denial Twist

Whew its been a long time! I've been engrossed in cleaning my apartment; which I will be moving out of in one week. It has been quite the task but I'm getting closer; which is all that matters. Now it's just a matter of finding a new apartment to move into. Hopefully the new place will have highspeed internet so I don't have an excuse not to update...

Summer Here I Come

As of about five minutes ago I started my summer break. My last paper is in and I am officially free. Life is good again. However, since I am starving I leave you with just a photo and very little monologue today.

Return of Sunshine

Well the sunshine has returned to Washington. Which mean I need to get some sunglasses and spend more time outside. Unfortunately it is finals week so I am stuck indoors studying and writing papers. Only two days left though and then I am free to enjoy the summer. Had a bit a problem with my political forum but finally fixed it. If you are interested in talking about politics please come to http://politics.raptimagery.com/. It would be nice to have diverse participants. That is it for today however, more posts hopefully after finals...

Summer Plans

Well with summer fast approaching I am desperately looking for things to do. I'm sure the photography will keep me busy some of the time but I doubt that it will fill my entire break. So now I'm going to use this time to plug two personal projects I'm working on; in addition to my continued work on http://www.raptimagery.com/.
My major project is my current events blog that will highlight some work I'm doing on a paper/book. That blog can be found at http://ghamidh.blogspot.com/. Right now it is shaping up to be simply me talking about current events and what not; I hope to eventually use my webserver to host my manuscripts and some mindmaps I'm working on, so that people can review for me.
Another project; well not really a project as it is already done, that I am working on and trying to promote is my political forum. I've become fairly active on group on a social networking site and wanted to expand the audience that is avaliable for discussion and debate. So I've created a political forum off of my webpage; http://politics.raptimagery.com/. Right now it is just me and my brother posting so we are looking for other people to get active and share their ideas and opinions.
So these three projects; aside from any work I end up doing, will be my activities for the summer. I'm hoping to get the paper finished by the beginning of fall quarter; as I'm sure I won't have much time to write during the quarter. As for the political forum well that is dependent on people willing to participate. So please please please participate (all nationalities are welcome). Ok that's it for my LONG post.

A Bit of Sailing

In honor of the long weekend I decided to post another photo. I figured I'd get people in a summery (I realize it is not a word) mood with a photo taken at Alki Beach on a very sunny day. Hope you all enjoy and please shoot me some comments and tell your friends about this blog!
